Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology Services 
To determine effective medical treatment, physicians often depend upon the visual information that diagnostic imaging and radiology provide about illness and injury. At Field Memorial, these diagnostic services have been recently expanded and improved to benefit our community with more advanced technological care.
New radiography and fluoroscopy equipment has literally doubled our diagnostic services and provided increased power capability. For the patient, this means less radiation exposure time, with an image quality that is significantly improved. Upgrading Field Memorial’s ultrasound equipment has resulted in more detailed, improved images used to diagnose patients and supply their doctors with important information about their conditions. There is also a new internal communications system for physicians to review patients’ diagnostic images using Internet access, bringing prompter results.
Field Memorial is staffed by certified technologists, and a radiologist who supervises examinations and procedures in all diagnostic services, including CT scan, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and diagnostic radiology. Radiology hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and every weekend from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. For an appointment or for more information, please contact our Radiology Department at (601) 645-5221, Ext. 320.
Mammography services at Field Memorial are fully accredited, using safe, low-dose breast-imaging equipment for early detection of breast cancer, tumors, and other diseases or growths. Our Senographe Screening and Diagnostic Mammography unit provides excellent x-ray images that are consistent in quality, with low radiation levels and increased patient comfort. Just as important in providing outstanding mammography care to our community are Field Memorial’s registered radiologic technologists. |
