| Family Practice physicians are trained to prevent, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages. They have received a broad range of training that includes surgery, psychiatry, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and geriatrics. They place special emphasis on care of families on a continuing basis, utilizing consultations and community resources when appropriate. They are able to apply modern techniques to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the vast majority of common illnesses and injuries. |

| About Dr. Leak: | Board-certified in family practice, Dr. Leak is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has practiced here since 1989. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami in 1986, where he also received a Ph.D. and M.S. degree in biological oceanography. He holds a B.S. degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Leak, a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, also completed an internship and residency in family practice at E.W. Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. He is a recipient of the Centennial Honor Award from the LSU Alumni Foundation, and the Reitmeister Fellowship of the University of Miami’s Reitmeister Foundation. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, and the Wilk-Amite Medical Society. |
